Ventilation and security are essential parts of your dog carrier
Two major aspects that you have to take care of while buying any of the dog carriers including the traditional and luxury dog carriers are ventilation and security of your pet dog. Dogs get stressed while traveling and they need the air flow to reach them to keep their breathing rates normal. That is why most of the carriers have vents on at least three of the four sides that would allow the air to pass through.
When you are going on a lengthy trip, your dog might be shipped along side the cargoes in the airplane. In such cases adequate ventilation is extremely essential. You should also have a bowl of water handy by the side of your dog on travel so that it does not get thirsty and consequential problems like dehydration. Of course you do not require fancy dog beds for such travel but some sort of dog bed might also be required for rest and relaxation of your dog.
The carrier you select should be latched properly and securely. It is better to have dial latch or pinch latches so that they do not come loose accidentally. This aspect is most important when your dog travels by airplane. You might also keep handy dog dishes if you desire your pet dog to have some food during the travel.
